The Arabia CSR Network has announced that the 7th Cycle of the Arabia CSR Awards will be held under the auspices of His Excellency Mohamed bin Ibrahim At-Tuwajri, Assistant Secretary General for Economic Affairs of the League of Arab States.
The Arabia Network is a Pan-Arab initiative that operates under the slogan "Building Partnerships for a Sustainable Future" to facilitate the exchange of ideas and to forge lasting partnerships across sectors and countries.
The Arabia CSR Awards has been supported by the United Nations Global Compact since its inception in 2008. Mrs. Habiba Al Marashi, President and CEO of the Arabia CSR Network, said, “The only way forward is together. I invite all organisations in all Arab countries to take this opportunity and join The Awards as a force for sustainability to serve our societies, our environment and the planet at large, it is our responsibility to do so.’’
The Awards programme has received over 580 applications from the most successful and innovative CSR pioneers from 13 countries across 26 sectors in the Arab world. To date the Arabia CSR Awards 7th Cycle has received 92 applications from 10 Arab countries across 22 sectors and counting.
These figures translate into multiple impacts on the communities and environments in which these organisations operate. The Awards are not only a recognition tool – but a platform to share knowledge, best practice and experience that has helped hundreds of companies assess and improve their commitment to the planet and their contribution to their economies.
The rigorous evaluation methodology and expert Jury feedback has helped these companies realign their priorities and embark on the right sustainability path. Similarly, the Best Practices Publication, which is an output of the Awards, has shared hundreds of examples that have inspired and educated organisations across the Arab world to follow the lead of pioneers and learn from their experiences.
