The International Tourism Partnership has been asked to participate at a number of recent events, as well as to share information on some of our programmes.
Responsible Business Week began on 31st March, and ITP were invited to host an online debate looking at Collaborating with Competitors to address sustainability challenges. Some of our member organisations took part including NH Hoteles' Marta Martin and Michelle Naggar from Starwood Hotels, alongside Fran and Steve from ITP and Debbie Coulter at the Ethical Trading Initiative. You can read the transcript of their interesting debate here.
Steve recently wrote his column for Global Hotel Network on ITP's life-changing programme the Youth Career Initiative. This incredibly successful programme targets young people in disadvantaged communities with limited opportunities and partners with local hotels to offer them meaningful training, mentoring and employment prospects. Read Steve's column here.
YCI was also the subject of a story on the Business in the Community website in a feature called A global framework building responsible business leadership in local communities.
And finally, Steve was invited to attend and present at the Responsible Tourism in Destinations event. Steve's popular presentation looked at how competitors can collaborate to drive forward on sustainability, and why it's so important that they do.
You can watch Steve's presentation here.
