The sustainable showcase property for Park Inn extends its impressive green credentials even further

The Park Inn by Radisson Telford hotel continues its commitment to ‘Think Planet’ by replacing all existing light bulbs with LEDs where possible and by significantly reducing the wattage output in all other lamps throughout the hotel in a bid to save energy.

This environmentally friendly measure has amounted in a £200,000 energy saving for the hotel itself and has helped towards the ‘Think Planet’ initiative which aims for a 25% worldwide reduction in energy consumption across all of the Rezidor Hotels.

In March the Park Inn joined the International Earth Hour by switching off all of their lights for an hour. They are now going the extra mile by entirely replacing their lights, or by reducing the numbers of lamps to remain in line with their environmental plans, which are at the forefront of the ongoing £4 million intensive refurbishment. With phase one completed, phase two is set to be completed shortly.

Adrian Pickard, General Manager at the Park Inn by Radisson Telford hotel said: We are proud of our green credentials across all aspects of the hotel and our commitment to saving energy across all lighting where possible emphasizes our pledge to Think Planet.

“It’s an added bonus that our new lighting creates extra ambience for our customers across the different spaces within our hotel and from the moment you walk through the door with our mood-lit reception.  If you are a leisure guest who is dining in our stylish bar or a business user looking for an environmentally friendly venue for their meetings, our lighting now suits all moods and occasions and is sustainable at the same time.

“We are now looking forward to the completion of the final phase of the refurbishment of the hotel and the extra initiatives we can take to reduce energy consumption where possible.”
