The awards are the first and only business awards for West London and aim to celebrate business excellence, showcasing the innovation and entrepreneurial character within West London’s remarkable business community.
Soma Saha, Sales and Marketing Communications Manager for Heathrow Marriott said, “We are proud and delighted to be in the running for the new, highly prestigious awards which include companies large and small; all showing excellence, innovation and creativity.”
The hotel is being considered for the award in recognition for the innovative solutions to the many sustainability challenges it faces. Some of the actions taken by the hotel include installing two electric car-charging stations for guests, introducing flow restrictors to conserve water in all 393 guest bedrooms as well as investing in energy efficient dishwashers and state of the art cooking oil filtering equipment for the kitchen.
Working with the National Grid, the hotel has embarked on Triad activities when all non-essential equipment is turned off at peak times to save carbon emissions and energy usage. Saha said, “The hotel’s Green Team work hard to plan and maintain the initiatives and have come up with many energy saving projects including building a greenhouse on the roof to provide sustainable produce for the kitchen, plus a windmill on the roof to generate power for the Marriott LED sign.”
The winners will be announced at a Gala Dinner Presentation with around 200 attendees expected at the London Heathrow Marriott on Thursday 28th November. Saha concluded, “We are honoured that our venue has been chosen to help celebrate the achievements of our colleagues in the West London community.”
