Ian Carter

Ian Carter was appointed president of global operations for Hilton Worldwide in early 2008, having previously held the position of chief executive of Hilton International for three years. Prior to joining Hilton, he was an officer and president of Black & Decker Corporation, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia.

Frits van Paaschen

Frits van Paaschen joined Starwood Hotels & Resorts as CEO in September 2007. Previously, he was president and CEO of Coors Brewing Company, a position he took up in March 2005, and before that he spent seven years, from 2000 to 2004, at Nike, most recently as corporate vice president/ general manager, Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Alan Parker

Alan Parker was appointed CEO of Whitbread PLC in June 2004, after 12 years as managing director of Whitbread Hotel Company and a member of the Whitbread PLC Board since 2000. Alan is a director and ex-chairman of the British Hospitality Association, a Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality, an executive committee member of the World Travel and Tourism Council and non-executive director of Jumeirah Group LLC.

Andrew Cosslett

Andrew Cosslett has been CEO of IHG since February 2005. He joined from Cadbury Schweppes, where he spent 14 years in marketing and general management occupying a variety of roles, including chairman of Cadbury Schweppes Australia, CEO of the Asia Pacific confectionery business, managing director of Great Britain and Ireland and President of Europe Middle East and Africa.

Paul White

Paul White has spent over 20 years in the lodging industry, beginning in 1986, with over 18 years at Orient-Express Hotels Ltd, which he joined in September 1991. He has been a hotel general manager, a financial controller and a regional vice president with profit and loss responsibility for the company’s operations across a third of the globe.

Christopher J. Nassetta

Christopher J. Nassetta joined Hilton Hotels Corporation as president and CEO in December 2007. Previously he was president CEO of Host Hotels & Resorts, Inc. a position he held since 2000. He joined Host in 1995 as executive vice president and was elected chief operating officer in 1997.

Ed Fuller

Ed Fuller is president and managing director of international lodging for Marriott International, Inc. Based at the company’s headquarters in Washington, D.C., he has overall operating responsibility for managed and franchised hotels spanning seven lodging brands and brand extensions outside the continental United States and Canada.

Gabriele Burgio

Since taking the helm at NH Hoteles, the company has become one of the fastest-growing hotel chains in Europe, increasing its sales to €1,532m in 2008, as well as developing innovative food and beverage concepts such as “nhube” and “Fast Good”. In 2007, NH Hoteles was awarded the Príncipe Felipe prize for “Excellence in Tourism”.

Raymond N. Bickson

Raymond N. Bickson is managing director and CEO of Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces with responsibility for all Taj Hotels operations and management, hospitality and travel subsidiary companies. Previously, Raymond served as vice president and general manager of The Mark in New York for The Rafael Group Hoteliers Monaco and with Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group for 15 years.
