The Sustainable Hotel & Resort Conference is preparing for its grand opening in a little over a week.
The event being held at Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort, Bonnet Creek, Orlando Florida on 15th and 16th October will feature leaders in resort management, sustainability, best practices, and green marketing.
The conference hopes to bring together hotel and resort operators, energy and water management consultants, sustainable solution providers, and certifying organisations to discuss trends, products, and solutions to help hotels and resorts recognise that implementing sustainable solutions is good; good for the environment and good for business.
There are some high profile speakers and the line-up for the two-day event includes a
Designing for Sustainability panel, a discussion asking Does Green Matter to Guests?, and a panel looking at Creating Green Meeting Opportunities.
Later a presentation on Creating a Culture of Sustainability in Resort Operations will feature
Tammy Brister Manager of Environmental Integrations at Walt Disney Parks & Resorts U.S.
and Sheryl Koenes General Manager at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort.
Subsequently a Certifications Programs panel will include
Moderator: Gregory Hoffstetter – EcoGreenHotel and Steve Ball - Green Key Global, Cerise Bridges - Green Seal, Fred Realbuto – Audubon and JoAnn Shearer – Florida Green Lodging Program as panelists.
Another group will examine Advanced Hotel Conservation Strategies.
The event is being hosted by The Sustainable Resort Institute which was formed to provide educational and networking opportunities for hospitality professionals, certifying bodies, public relations and marketing professionals, as well as those providing sustainable solutions/products.
