9 days left to enter Considerate Hotelier Awards


Considerate Hoteliers (CH) has great pleasure in announcing the launch of the ‘Considerate Hotel of the Year Awards 2015’ – once again supported by Berendsen, Aslotel & EcoPureWater with the eventual winners being announced at an Awards Gala event at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park London on July 3rd 2015.

Entry is free and open to all its UK & International members, and also open to other non-member hotels in the UK and internationally (at a nominal entry fee of £50), and the awards will include two new categories to embrace the ever-growing initiatives within this arena:

  • Considerate Spa & Wellness Award of the Year
  • Considerate Slow Food Chef of the Year

Considerate Hoteliers is particularly excited about its new alliance with the Slow Food UK’s Chef Alliance, as this branches out into an area within the hotel where Chefs are in charge of driving their own sustainability agenda through the food that they serve and the producers they choose to work with. Slow Food and Considerate Hoteliers have many synergies and this strategic new partnership will help enforce the message that the Slow Food motto of “good, fair and clean” can be applied to many aspects of daily life within a hotel.

This year’s categories are as follows:

  • • International Considerate Hotel of the Year
  • • UK Considerate Hotel of the Year
  • • Considerate Marketing & Guest Relations of the Year
  • • Considerate Hotelier of the Year
  • • Considerate Supplier of the Year
  • • Small Considerate Hotel of the Year
  • • Considerate Housekeeping Team of the Year
  • • Considerate Slow Food Chef of the Year (Urban & Country)
  • • Considerate Spa & Wellness Award of the Year
  • • Considerate Good Egg Award (within the gift of Considerate Hoteliers)

Applicants in all categories are also asked to nominate their favourite suppliers which will help the judges choose the best companies for the awards.

As with previous years the judges on the panel cover many areas of expertise within the hospitality sector and all come with a wide skill set qualifying them to choose the most ‘Considerate’ out of all applicants. Commenting on this year’s launch, John Firrell MIH, Chairman of Considerate Hoteliers said: “We look forward to this year’s applications with great anticipation, particularly to our two new categories as they highlight two areas within the hotels, which contribute substantially to the bottom line and therefore have a huge environmental impact too. Both restaurants as well as spas, have become stand-alone attractions for clients through their innovative offerings, consequently highlighting their sustainable initiatives as being equally as important.
