British Hospitality & Tourism Summit line up announced

Hospitality and Tourism Summit

Hospitality and Tourism Summit 2012

The Hospitality & Tourism Industry is already a leading industry, the UKʼs fourth biggest employer, generating jobs and prosperity for all local communities across each and every region of the UK.

Between 2010 and 2012, Hospitality & Tourism created 153,000 jobs, one third of all new jobs in the UK. Reflecting this, organisers of this year's British Hospitality & Tourism Summit believe it is the time to start actively realising the industry’s full potential, and crucial to success is investment in tourism's best resource, people.

The British Hospitality & Tourism Summit, taking place on 11 June at the InterContinental Hotel, Park Lane, is sponsored by InterContinental Hotels Group, DLA Piper and Nestlé Professional and organised by the British Hospitality Association and Bench Events.  The Summit will focus on prospects for the future growth of the industry and the principal theme is to demonstrate the potential of Hospitality & Tourism to deliver 300,000 new jobs by 2020.

Ufi Ibrahim, Chief Executive of The British Hospitality Association said: “The BHA is the agenda-setter of the hospitality and tourism industry and the Summit is the industry’s opportunity to come together and speak to government with a united voice and ensure that they listen and act upon our agenda for growth.”

Stephen McCall, Managing Director UK and Ireland, IHG said:

Our industry has so much to offer the UK in terms of job creation, skills and growth. It’s important we come together so that those who have a hand in our success – government and our partners in the financial, transport and retail sectors for example – hear from us with one voice.
