Having been named as one of the world’s most ethical companies for the second year running by the Ethisphere Institute, a US think-tank, the Rezidor Hotel Group has published its Responsible Business Report
The past year has seen employee satisfaction remain high at 86.7%, while 80% of Rezidor hotels participated in the Responsible Business community action month in September. And 179 of its hotels have received eco-certification from schemes such as Nordic Swan, Green Key and the Green Hospitality Award.
Kurt Ritter, president and CEO of the Rezidor Hotel Group, a member of the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, says: “Profitable growth is key to the long-term success and stability of our company. But one look at the finite size of our planet—and at the resources it contains—always reminds me of the shared responsibility we have to take care of our small, spinning sphere.”
Launching their first environmental policy in 1989, the company now operates an award-winning, three-pillar Responsible Business programme: taking responsibility for health and safety of employees and guests; respecting social and ethical issues in the company and in the community; and reducing the negative impact on the environment.
“We will continue our commitment to expanding our company responsibly,” says Mr Ritter, “and to developing, operating and franchising hotels that will be seen as positive examples—providing excellent, sustainable services and employment opportunities in their communities.”
