The Hotel Carbon Measurement Initiative (HCMI) was implemented as a uniform and universally recognised way of measuring carbon footprints in hospitality.
Around the world more than 15,000 hotels have adopted the methodology that allows them to calculate and communicate the carbon footprint of hotel stays and meetings in a consistent and transparent way.
On September 10th Eco Green Hotel  are hosting a free webinar where hoteliers can learn how they can measure their own carbon footprint in order to;
– Provide carbon footprint information which customers are increasingly requesting
– Understand a hotel’s environmental impacts and start to reduce these, as well as costs
– Enhance statistical reporting
– Demonstrate their commitment to good environmental management.
The webinar will be presented by Fran Hughes Head of Programmes at the International Tourism Partnership (ITP) which brings together the world’s leading international hotel companies to provide a voice for environmental and social responsibility in the industry. Fran holds a Master’s in Environmental Strategy and is an Associate of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment.
