Cavendish London raises over 4k in charity challenges

The Cavendish London has raised £4,703 for three charities over the last month in a series of challenges ranging from a Coast-to-Coast cycle ride, participation in The Race for Life and a staff raffle which saw one lucky employee win an extra week’s paid holiday

The four-star hotel, which was recognised in The Sunday Times’ 100 Best Small Companies to Work For list for its good employee engagement, encourages its team to give something back by taking part in charity events throughout the year.

Sarah Banner, HR manager at the hotel, explains:

We aim to be the best place to work in the industry and a huge part of that is supporting our employees and the charitable causes that matter to them.

Nineteen of our ladies, not all of them runners, limbered up to complete The Race for Life in Hyde Park, and eleven of us dusted off our bikes to pedal 54 miles from Somerset to Dorset. The whole hotel was involved in Hospitality Action Week with an employee raffle, chiropodist, ice cream van, bake sale and Mexican themed lunch all helping us raise much needed funds for the industry’s charity.

Hospitality Action, Cancer Research, The National Blind Children’s Society, Operation Smile and Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance will all benefit from the fundraising, which was supported by all of the hotel’s 150 employees.
