The Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility (HACR), a leading Hispanic advocacy group, has released findings from its 2012 Corporate Inclusion Index(CII) survey.

The survey is a comprehensive measurement of Hispanic inclusion at Fortune 100 companies and HACR corporate member companies by focusing on HACR's four pillars of corporate social responsibility and market reciprocity: Employment, Procurement, Philanthropy, and Governance.  Marriott International was recognized for its workforce and recruitment, supplier diversity and board membership.

“We have a long-standing reputation for our commitment to diversity and inclusion.  At Marriott we want everyone to feel respected and valued from our associates to our guests, owners, suppliers and franchisees,” saidDavid Rodriguez, chief human resources officer and chief diversity executive.  “The differences our associates bring to Marriott contribute to the greatness of our organization and enable us to be more innovative in our approach and more responsive to those we serve.”

Marriott is a proud corporate partner with HACR.  The company engages HACR members throughout the year by speaking at and sponsoring events such as the symposium at this year’s Hispanic Corporate Achievers Summit, which was created to motivate, empower and reconnect past HACR Young Hispanic Corporate Achiever participants to create a support network among executives dedicated to the advancement of Hispanic inclusion in Corporate America.

Championing Marriott's diversity efforts further, last month DiversityInc announced Marriott International’s rise to number 16 during the 2013 DiversityInc Top 50 Companies for Diversity event, making it the highest ranking hotel company on the list.  The company was also ranked number 2 for its supplier diversity efforts and included on two other specialty lists – Top 10 Companies for Latinos and Top 10 Companies for Recruitment and Retention.

Marriott was recognized for demonstrating strength in four areas – CEO commitment, human capital, corporate and organizational communications and supplier diversity, as well as  commitment to its LGBT stakeholders and cross-cultural engagement.
